What makes a video file big?
File size is roughly bitrate × duration. Bitrate rises with resolution, frame rate, motion and the quality level you encode at — so reducing any of them shrinks the file.
Codec matters too: VP9 WebM and HEVC can be 30–50% smaller than H.264 for the same quality.
